Katrina Opinion

General

I am ashamed of my government, and of the US government. I don't care about higher gas prices. I *DO* care about people who live in this so-called civilization who are not helped. George Bush and Paul Martin should go off somewhere and not return. In my opinion, neither has proved to be a leader to those in need. One of the anchor people on a local tv station suggested donating to the US government for aid to those in need. A financial advisor scoffed at that, saying the Red Cross is in a better situation to use your funds appropriately.
The Bible says that the earth will not again be destroyed by a flood. Indeed Katrina has not caused a global flood. Yet I see many Bible believing Christians sitting back as if it's the end of the world, rather than reaching out to help those whom Christ would help.

Another Good Test

Cancer

Got the CEA test results today and 0.8 is well below the acceptable 3.0. Good to go for another 3 months.

On another subject, fall is starting here and night time temperatures are getting pretty close to freezing. I have booked the last week of September off work to do garden cleanup. Plus it will be our 35th wedding anniversary on the 30th.

Time...

General

Where does time go? I find it increasingly difficult to keep up with email. Does this mean I have more friends, or do I get more spam? Haven't had time to figure that out yet...

Fine Fall Day

General

Went to the Ellerslie Gift and Garden Centre Annual Autumn Tea to meet some people from the Alberta Regional Lily Society (ARLS). Met Marilyn M, Sharon, Lil, Laurie, Dianne, Kathy, Maureen, and Fred Tarlton. Too bad I missed Shauna.
After that, I went to Hermitage Park to take some Fall photos. Took a shot of a tree trunk laying in the water and when I came home, I discovered a heron in that photo as well. Nice bonus.
Did some putzing in the garden, wanting to start Fall cleaning but a lot of flowers still look nice enough that I don't want to cut them off. Pruned the Black Beauty lily though. It wasn't looking very nice anymore...

First Day of Fall

Gardening

Today was the official first day of Fall, and I woke up to our first frost. I did not seem to be a killing frost, but I'm reserving judgment until tomorrow.
