Family
Happy first birthday to my grandson, Gabe.
I'd like to give him a birthday hug, but I think I have a cold or a flu happening and don't want to spread my germs.

Lilies
Planted last summer's lily seeds.
I did not go crazy this year, so there were only 17 pots I needed to plant. A bit later than last year, but still early enough to have healthy plants next spring.

Cancer
Went to see the doctor today about the results of my cancer test, and all was still perfect. 0.6 is the regular score.
Also had my hip joints xrayed and they "did not look bad" according to my GP. He will read the radiologist's report before deciding on a course of action, but cortisone is a definite possibility. A little pain for a lot of gain.

Family
We celebrated Christmas and my birthday at Vincent's home yesterday.
It was so good to have the family together, including Alicia. I gave Alicia my Coolpix 5000 as a birthday present. She loved the camera, taking photos of herself and Jayden. It's the same camera she used in March when we went to Rundle Park in the snow. I did not need to show her again how to use it. She's a pretty smart 12 year old. :)
Gabe, dressed in a Santa suit, was exploring everything.

Health General
Well, according to the radiology report, there is nothing wrong with my hips. That's good news...
Now back to the doctor to find out what IS wrong...

Lilies
The first seedlings are coming up, the cross between my white seedling and various tangos.
Will be interesting to see the results.

General
Looking back over the past year(s) I must say I have seen a bit of a health setback with my hips, yet generally speaking, 2007 has been good to me. Both cancer and heart problems are under control. Just one more CEA test, and the regular tests are over. I am so happy!
The highlight of the summer was of course the North American Lily Show, in which I won 3 ribbons. Met many great friends that I have known for years through the www.
December has brought me much joy from an unexpected source, half a world away, bringing encouragement to document my life's journey as inspiration for others. The account will be largely fictional or it would not have an end. We'll see where I go with it, but the prospect is refreshing.
To all my friends, a very happy and healthy 2008.
